10 little canvases 6X6in filled with whatever crosses my mind. I did this Mini paints today as a creativity exercise. I didn’t use models or sketches, and I did them all in a period of 4 hours. That was fast!
I liked the result, what do you think?

Illustration Friday - Propagate

Another Experiment - Crackle Paint
I read at Somerset Studio Magazine about a paste that you can use in mixed media work, and when it dryes it crackles! … ok, it did’t happen for me :( but anyways, it left a very cool texture on my illustration so I’m still happy about it.
Apparently you have to use a thicker layer of this crackle paste. I’ll try next time… So please, if you try this technique or any other, share it with me *)
About the illustration itself, positivity… now you can take your suit out, put your case down, and reinvent yourself over again. This illustration is my way to tell the people who got lay off “hey reinvent yourself, no need to be sad. Be happy, you are free again”

Last Week’s activities
So it looks like for a week I haven’t done anything about my selftaught activities as an artist. But the truth is that I’ve been learning a lot, from my computer. An Experiment
Today after making the Hug a tree illustration I decided to try something new, since I’m exploring as much as I can, to learn as much as I can this year. I tried altering my illustration on Photoshop!
Here I posted both images: on the left you can see the altered one, and on the right the original illustration. I did it because I’m still defining my style, and sometimes is really hard to do that, don’t you think? So this year I’m trying everything of everything… especially those things that call my attention and curiosity.
So for this illustration, I was wondering, which one do you like better? I can’t decide myself, and I need some help!

I’ve Found a treasure
I was walking around Bellingham and we found a couple of very interesting antique stores. I’ve found a treasure in this old school yearbook from 1946.
First I thought of using it for some crafts and collages I had in mind, but I must say it was so interesting reading all the notes the owner of the yearbook had from her friends, that now I just want to keep it as a collective piece.
I definitely feel I’ve found a treasure. But I’m still going to use it for what I had in mind, so let’s see how it will turn out! *)

So… are you focused?
About Me.:
I personally think that everything that you touch, smell, see and experience in life, determine what you like and the things you do. I was born in a place where houses are one next to the other one, where all of them are painted different and with vivid colors, as if a kid had drawn them. It looks very pretty by the way. This place is called Maracaibo, Venezuela.
My parents are form Argentina and Venezuela, and my grandparents form Spain, Italy, Argentina and Venezuela. I lived in Seattle, WA for about a year and a half, and now my husband and I just moved to Bellingham, WA. This sounds like a very crazy mix but it’s actually very fun and rich. Because of this, I think most of the things that I make have an international influence. I don’t really follow fashion trends; I just make things that seem beautiful to my eyes. This is why I love everything I do.
I love living in WA with my husband, surrounded by green. I’m a psychologist, but I don’t “work” as a psychologist, I just use what I’ve learned to help other people when they need me.
I’m 8 years old, but I pretend to act like my chronological age (25), nobody really believes it.
I love colors, textures, vintage rings, vintage metal boxes, handmade clothes, gems and stones, cookies (oh, I love cookies!), key lime tart, lying down in the snow and vegetarian dishes. This list goes on and on, these are just a few to mention.
I believe in creating a new world promoting handmade goods, recycling, and doing things with love, L-O-V-E. I like to try new things, explore materials, designs and shapes, so this new discipline (journaling my experience becoming a self taught artist) is going to be lots of fun!
